Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains how Metamorphosis Consulting, LLC, doing business as Txt4RSVP ("Txt4RSVP," "we," "us" or "our") collects, uses, shares and protects information when you visit txt4rsvp.com, create or manage an event, or RSVP to an event by text message (together, the "Service").
The short version
We collect only what's needed to run RSVPs. We never sell your personal information. We do not share mobile phone numbers or SMS opt-in data and consent with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Guest RSVP data is deleted after the event.
1. Information we collect
From guests who RSVP by text
- Mobile phone number you text us from
- RSVP details you provide: the event code, your name, the number of people attending, and any changes you make
- Message records: the content, date and time of messages exchanged with Txt4RSVP, delivery status, and opt-out (STOP) or HELP requests
From hosts and organizations
- Account information: name, email address, phone number, organization name and password
- Event information: event name, date, location description and settings
- Payment information: payments are processed by our payment processor (Stripe). We receive confirmation of payment and limited billing details, but we do not receive or store full card numbers.
- Support communications you send us
From website visitors
- Basic technical information such as IP address, browser type, pages visited and referring site, collected through server logs
- Information you choose to send us by email, such as a request to be notified at launch
2. How we use information
- To process RSVPs: reply to guests, ask the questions needed to complete an RSVP, send confirmations and record changes
- To show hosts their guest list and headcount
- To honor opt-out (STOP) and help (HELP) requests
- To create and manage host accounts, process payments and provide customer support
- To operate, secure and improve the Service, including preventing spam, fraud and abuse
- To comply with legal obligations and wireless carrier requirements
We do not use guest phone numbers or RSVP details to market to guests, and we do not sell personal information.
3. Text messaging and mobile information
Guests opt in to receive text messages by texting an event's RSVP code to Txt4RSVP. We send only messages related to that RSVP. See our SMS Terms for details on message frequency, rates, HELP and STOP.
No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Text messaging originator opt-in data and consent will not be shared with any third parties, excluding service providers that help us deliver the messaging service (such as our SMS and cloud hosting providers), who may use it only to provide that service to us.
If you reply STOP, your number is added to our opt-out list and you will not receive further texts from Txt4RSVP unless you opt in again. We keep the opt-out record so we can continue to honor your request.
4. How we share information
We share information only as described below:
- With the event host. When you RSVP, the host of that event (and any event planner, venue or organization managing the event on the host's behalf) can see the name, party size and RSVP status you provided, and may see a partially masked version of your phone number. They cannot use Txt4RSVP to send you marketing texts.
- With service providers who process information on our behalf under contracts that limit their use of it, including cloud hosting and SMS delivery (Amazon Web Services), payment processing (Stripe) and email delivery. They may not use your information for their own marketing.
- For legal reasons, if required by law, subpoena or court order, or to protect the rights, property or safety of Txt4RSVP, our users or others.
- In a business transfer, such as a merger or acquisition, subject to this policy's protections, including the commitment not to share mobile information for marketing.
We do not sell or rent personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.
5. How long we keep information
- Guest RSVP details and message content are deleted or de-identified within 90 days after the event date.
- Opt-out records are kept as long as needed to honor the opt-out.
- Host account and billing records are kept while the account is open and afterward as required for tax, accounting and legal purposes.
- Limited logs may be kept longer for security and fraud prevention.
6. Security
We use administrative, technical and physical safeguards to protect information, including encryption in transit and at rest, encrypted storage of phone numbers, access controls limited to people who need them, and audit logs of administrative access. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to protect your information and will notify you of a breach as required by law.
7. Your choices and rights
- Stop texts: reply STOP to any Txt4RSVP message.
- Change your RSVP: reply CHANGE, or contact the event host.
- Access, correct or delete: email privacy@txt4rsvp.com to request a copy of, correction of, or deletion of your personal information. We may need to verify your request, for example by confirming the phone number you texted from.
- Hosts can update account information in their dashboard and may close their account at any time.
Depending on where you live, including California and other U.S. states with privacy laws, you may have additional rights such as knowing what personal information we collect and how it is used, and not being discriminated against for exercising your rights. We honor these requests as required by applicable law. You may use an authorized agent to make a request on your behalf.
8. Cookies
This website uses only cookies and similar technologies that are needed for it to function, such as keeping hosts signed in. We do not use advertising cookies. If we add analytics in the future, we will update this policy.
9. Children
Host accounts are for people 18 and older. The Service is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will post the updated policy here and change the effective date above. We will not use mobile information in a way that conflicts with the commitments in section 3 without your consent.
